Hemostat (Kelly Forceps)
Kelly forceps are ratcheted, locking forceps with serrated jaws, designed to clamp blood vessels or tissues to control bleeding. The serrations extend only partially along the jaw (unlike Crile forceps, which are fully serrated), making them suitable for smaller vessels or delicate tissues.
Uses: Used to clamp small to medium-sized blood vessels, hold tissues, or manipulate structures during surgery. Common in general and vascular surgeries.
Sizes:
- Common lengths: 14 cm, 16 cm, or 18 cm.
- Jaw types: Available in straight or curved configurations.
Material: Stainless steel, designed for precision and repeated sterilization.
