Babcock Forceps
Babcock forceps are ratcheted instruments with smooth, fenestrated (windowed) jaws that allow atraumatic handling of delicate tissues. The smooth ends prevent damage to sensitive structures like bowel or ureters.
Uses: Used to hold delicate structures such as bowel, appendix, or fallopian tubes during abdominal or gynecological surgeries without causing trauma.
Sizes:
- Common lengths: 15 cm, 20 cm, or 24 cm, depending on the procedure.
- Jaw width: Varies from 6 mm to 10 mm for different tissue types.
Material: Stainless steel, designed for precision and durability.
